Two people died in here today. The media reports suggest they were drunk and painting graffiti when a storm hit.
Inexperienced artists and explorers should never enter storm water drains, especially in unpredictable weather conditions. May they rest in peace.

Guest_friend of the dead: looks like you only just made it through school
To the so called cave clan, A bunch of adrenaline junkies. Yeah i to did stupid shit once then grew up. Have a thought for the emergency services people who have to save your arses when it all goes pear shaped, and the fact that they will risk their lives to save yours. People like you make me and a large part of the community sick. You are irresponsible and break the law to achieve your so called fun. I hope you are never injured on my watch!! Grow up!!!!!

Heaven forbid Wombat, that anyone should break the rules, question authority, push the boundaries, or explore new frontiers! Without this basic human drive to explore and understand our universe we would still be "cavemen".

To Guest_Wombat, What a sad lonely no-life you must have all capped off by the fact your pretending to be in emergency services. Two people lost their lives and you couldn't give a rats!

You know Anon, you said have some respect in your earlier comment, and as for the 2 people who lost thier lives is an absolute tragedy. They died in a horrific way that no one should have ever died. And to you stars & beyond, these 3 broke the rules, pushed the boundaries and explored their frontier, and now 2 of them have no human drive left. Why don't you go to their funeral and quote your words to their parents & friends, I'm sure they would appreciate it. And Anon your wrong, I do give a rats, and I hope everyone learns a lesson and takes note of what happened, and hopefully it will never happen again. And one other thing Anon, I don't give a rats about how someone is hurt or if they caused it by their own stupidity, I will still do my best to help my patient even if it puts me in danger. Something you may have heard of, its the "Aussie way".

wombat, i see where your comming from by the sounds of it you are ambulance service? i also work in a emergency service as fulltime rescue operator. yeah the three people the other day made a mistake, unfortunatley they may not have had the experience to understand when it rains no drains. to these people its there hobby/sport. people come unstuck abseiling/climbing/swimming/car racing we go rescue them,at the end of the day its our job to help these people. not abuse them for doing what they enjoy.

How can going down into old drains possibly be misconstrued as exploring new frontiers? Somebody built these drains (a long time ago) so at best you're exploring OLD frontiers. Don't regress too far "Stars + Beyond", you're too well spoken to end up a caveperson.

If you go into a tidal drain without any prior knowledge of your surroundings, what else do you expect?.. these people were obviously not avid explorers, and had not much experience before hand.

UrbanTwilight...
UrbanTwilight is photographing the underground tunnels, abandoned buildings, rooftops, and hidden industry that most people would never normally get to see. The images contained on this site have been shot in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, and countless country locations inbetween. Nearly all have been taken in low to very-low lighting conditions, and most on Canon digital equipment.
The Julia Farr Home for Incurables
After sitting vacant for more than 30 years, the Julia Farr Hospital's 'Home for Incurables' has finally been demolished.
Urbantwilight hid a camera on the roof of a neighbouring bulding and filmed the 4 week demolition process. Checkout the timelapse video.
14/02/13
UrbanTwilight turns 10 this year so I've finally made some time between the tunnels and abandoned buildings (and my day job) to make a few improvements around the place.
The images are bigger, the old ones have been colour corrected, and a handful have been given the flick. Most importantly there's a whole new section called 'Archives' -
You should check it out from time to time, you never know what you might find.
The Funnel
An expedition report of sorts, this has been hiding on Urbantwilight for years. 'The Funnel', 'The Pothole', 'Skate or die'. Whatever you choose to call it, this place is awe-inspiring.
