There are alot of ways onto a roof. I can't recall ever using a key though. I've heard it suggested that a serious roofer requires only two items - A helicopter and a rope.
i would love to come exploring with you guys there is just so many good place to find in adelaide. send me an email if it would be okay to join you guys one day.. peace
I was at the repat hospital last week & on a notice board there was an old pic with a bomb shelter ent. in the background & they were asking if anyone knew the ent. or other ways in
Thanks I'm from sydney and when I saw the notice I was hoping to see some pics on here. if the hospital people can't find an entrance (you think theye'd have an old map) I thought maybe the clan had stumbled on it
Thanks collector I love this sight do you need me to post my email or can you get it from my profile?? a web site I stumbled upon about an underground city in england (...)

Flinders Uni were doing some digging around the Daw Park repat hospital a couple of years back, but failed to find the entrance.
The Cave clan were approached for any information that they could provide, but they claimed not to know of a way in.

Working in Gawler Place, the building's sub basement was constantly getting flooded due to an underground river\well crossing through the city. Flooding is all fixed since the pumps were faulty. Anyway, would someone like to shed some light on the topic As I imagine something like this would interferer with tunnels. BTW Great website, photos are fantastic. Going to have to ask my Grandfather about the march to the train station back in WWII. That a lot of people seem to post about
I don't know of any underground water flow across Gawler place, but there was probably more than a few wells around there. Which building do you work in Enigma? (you can email me if you'd rather no mention it here - wzard @t cave clan .dot. org)
Keen as to get involved, I know of old tram, train lines, and all the tunnels under CBD but have no idea how to get in >.< I'm keen as to jump in, email me?

I know n elevator technician who has told me of a river under Toys R Us in the city, this is probably the same one as Gawler place. Apparrently last year the pumps broke down and caused problems. I believe he said pump faults were regular

I'm trying to get info, maps etc of the underground caverns in Adelaide. This is the underground version of the river Torrens. I know of people who have gone from the RAH building to the now demolished Advertiser buildings and at places is very deep and wide to the suburb of Prospect which is close to the service. During the early settlement of Adelaide the 'Morialta' tribe was sipposed to have been murdered and their bodies dumped there at Prospect. email me at
You are kidding right? If someone actually told you that they were lying.

Mark, I think the idea of an underground tunnel system in Adelaide is an urban myth. Apparently there used to be a tunnel going under frome road used for cattle transport and later for WWII / quarantine transport troops but was completely backfilled. There are old chambers and vaults underground in the city somewhere in one of the official buildings but they are still active. I can't find anything else to back up the idea of a tunel network -although I would love to be proven wrong!
It's far too easy for people to believe stories of fantsy-like underground cities. Tanya's got her head on straight.

The site next to The Repat has a very strange water table, water level gets lower as you get towards the hospital, contact me at samrholden@gmail.com for more info.

I do a lot of "exploring", because I'm a boiler service technician... I have been in hundreds of plant rooms aroud adelaide... most big buildings need a boiler for their airconditioning requirements... Sometimes these plant rooms are on rooftops
The a4 poster asked for info to the underground entrances & said it was believed to be wards as well as operating theatres below the site

Underground tunnels, could be true. Adelaide was built for war, I'm guessing there'd be somewhere they meet up. Perhaps a bomb shelter type thing. I'd be interested to find out if my suspicions are true. Afterall they're in melbourne, why not lil' adelaide?

Smashed up st peters tunnels through zorgs tomb n shit came up a manhole behing bath hotel shits fucked any other (...)s been ther
Zorg's Tomb? I think you've confused Eli's Tomb with Zorga's V, haha... I'd be a little confused if you went from St Peter's Twins through to Eli's Tomb, haha. Never been to the end of Zorga's V, though, nor have I ever climbed up a manhole. Where did you come out exactly?
This is on King william st. The building has been significantly redeveloped now.

Anyone active?
UrbanTwilight...
UrbanTwilight is photographing the underground tunnels, abandoned buildings, rooftops, and hidden industry that most people would never normally get to see. The images contained on this site have been shot in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, and countless country locations inbetween. Nearly all have been taken in low to very-low lighting conditions, and most on Canon digital equipment.
The Julia Farr Home for Incurables
After sitting vacant for more than 30 years, the Julia Farr Hospital's 'Home for Incurables' has finally been demolished.
Urbantwilight hid a camera on the roof of a neighbouring bulding and filmed the 4 week demolition process. Checkout the timelapse video.
14/02/13
UrbanTwilight turns 10 this year so I've finally made some time between the tunnels and abandoned buildings (and my day job) to make a few improvements around the place.
The images are bigger, the old ones have been colour corrected, and a handful have been given the flick. Most importantly there's a whole new section called 'Archives' -
You should check it out from time to time, you never know what you might find.
The Funnel
An expedition report of sorts, this has been hiding on Urbantwilight for years. 'The Funnel', 'The Pothole', 'Skate or die'. Whatever you choose to call it, this place is awe-inspiring.
