Yeah, that fella can occasionaly be found infront of my lens. He's always more than willing to add a sense of scale to my images. Props to you, blue shirt dude.

of course! but opting for the shores of the uk at the moment where the mammoth is MAMMOTH! trust you are going well too.
Two people died in here today. The media reports suggest they were drunk and painting graffiti when a storm hit.
Inexperienced artists and explorers should never enter storm water drains, especially in unpredictable weather conditions. May they rest in peace.

Rest in Peace? Wizard I've read your comments here and you seem like an intelligent sort of person. They were clearly fools. Drinking alcohol whilst doing this illegal activity in such poor weather? Lacking brain cells.
This pic is also famous, it appears as a 2 X 3 inch inset on teh front page of today's Daily Telegraph.

[Jan 22, 2008 at 01:04 PM]
i dont kno how ppl are able to say these few are fools!!!! Graffitiers are being chased away constently from trian tracks and streets which forces them to result into painting canals and stormwater drains so far form foolish just merely attempting to express themselves it was just a shame the drain flooded and to answer the comment above a close frend of mine knew one of them!

how is "expressing" yourself on someone elses property ie a train OK?

[Jan 22, 2008 at 01:57 PM]
Guest_ummm, its part of the culture my man. Its about your art, your creation becoming mobile. Being Broadcast, if you will. Lots of people don't know that graffiti is one of the 4 cornerstones of the hip hop movement. while I don't condone tagging, it leads to legitmate murals and the associated skills. Don't hate man, the world is full enough of haters, particularly about a subject they know nothing about..

Along time ago in Melbourne in my former occupation as a cop arresting the so called graffiti artists, there was a program run by cops dedicated to stopping the crap sprayed on walls trains etc. Business owners would allow artists to paint there murals on buildings beside train tracks knowing that they would not be tagged by junk. Maybe this could happen in sydney if done properly. Doesn't hurt to ask.

you "urban explorers" are a bunch of bloody tools. I am a very experienced retired writer. And i believe that any graf on any kind of public property without consent is a mindless, selfish act. And as for you explorer loosers what makes you any better than those little kids running around spraying their TOY garbage everywhere. You morons tresspass, waste tax payers money, waste rescuers time and most of all if you want to endanger your own life FINE just dont call the ses when you bastards need help!

We could all say you "conservative fuckwads" are a bunch of bloody tools. Lets summarise your dribble so everyone here can understand where you're coming from. Point A: "I am a very experienced retired writer," Who fucking cares? This only states to us that your old, boring and a complete fucking (...)er. Who cares if people graf? Who cares if people explore? Go back to voicing your opinions on AM radio, we're all laughing at you. By the way, your mum was great X

Hello Wizard. I saw this pic in the paper and was wondering if the media paid you for it, or just took it with no permission. Cheers, Origato from UER.
To date i've seen this pic in the daily telegraph, ninemsn, livenews.com, channel 9 news, and today tonight. I believe MX may have used it too. No permission was given to use this photo, and i was not paid for it.

Quinny, get out and enjoy life mate, before you're wearing knappies and dribbling wee wee in them, getting spoon fed by pretty young nurses. Life's too short to end up an old boring fart, who was too afraid of their own shadow to actually live life and do something out of the ordinary. Drains are f__king great dude..

UrbanTwilight...
UrbanTwilight is photographing the underground tunnels, abandoned buildings, rooftops, and hidden industry that most people would never normally get to see. The images contained on this site have been shot in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, and countless country locations inbetween. Nearly all have been taken in low to very-low lighting conditions, and most on Canon digital equipment.
The Julia Farr Home for Incurables
After sitting vacant for more than 30 years, the Julia Farr Hospital's 'Home for Incurables' has finally been demolished.
Urbantwilight hid a camera on the roof of a neighbouring bulding and filmed the 4 week demolition process. Checkout the timelapse video.
14/02/13
UrbanTwilight turns 10 this year so I've finally made some time between the tunnels and abandoned buildings (and my day job) to make a few improvements around the place.
The images are bigger, the old ones have been colour corrected, and a handful have been given the flick. Most importantly there's a whole new section called 'Archives' -
You should check it out from time to time, you never know what you might find.
The Funnel
An expedition report of sorts, this has been hiding on Urbantwilight for years. 'The Funnel', 'The Pothole', 'Skate or die'. Whatever you choose to call it, this place is awe-inspiring.
