fantastic, i love this pic, you are lucky people, can tell your not a bunch of d***heads, no thug would pain themselves to lay out all those candles, looks amazing, well done
Thanks Movistar, I wish i could take credit for the candles (all 100 of them), but thanks must go to my 3 co-explorers for those.

I AM NOT WERTHY OH GRATE WIZARD OF THE DARK PLACES IS THE PHOTO OF THE NEWCARSAL WAR BUNKERS ON THE COST AND WHATS WITH THE POWER EXSTENCTION LEAD TOP LEFT HAND SIDE
No, this is not 'newcarsal' nor is it Newcastle. That is however an extenstion lead. It was attached to a generator we were using to illuminate another area of the tunnel.

hey Wizard, I too learnt more about this site after hearing about the two people that died earlier this week (RIP). I have always been fascinated by tunnels and the underground, so I have to ask the same question that Matt did, how would I get involved in checking out some of these places or even finding locations. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work to you and your friends! Thanks. soniaschat@hotmail.com
I would suggest emailing your local cave clan branch. Tell them what you have to offer - they occasionally take on new members.

i hav just finished lookin at EVRY foto on ur site and i hav 2 say EXTREAMLY impressive and highly fascin8in.wat is ur fav tunnel and where is ur fav place to photograf? cheers to da modern day urban explorers..the CAVE CLAN!!
You looked at every photo? i'm impressed!
My favorite tunnel would have to be the St James railway tunnel in Sydney. The thing i like to photograph most is a little harder to answer. Generally anything that has the night sky as a backdrop. There are so many awesome things out there to take pictures of though.

Your work is impressive Wizard, I stumbled across this site while trying to find abandoned places in Sydney and there seems to be no other like yours! I would love to become involved in finding or visiting these places, it looks like an amazing experience. Similar to what Guest_JJ said - any info would be appreciated. elz1199@gmail.com Cheers

Amazing composition, lighting and subject matter. Brilliant concept!
UrbanTwilight...
UrbanTwilight is photographing the underground tunnels, abandoned buildings, rooftops, and hidden industry that most people would never normally get to see. The images contained on this site have been shot in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, and countless country locations inbetween. Nearly all have been taken in low to very-low lighting conditions, and most on Canon digital equipment.
The Julia Farr Home for Incurables
After sitting vacant for more than 30 years, the Julia Farr Hospital's 'Home for Incurables' has finally been demolished.
Urbantwilight hid a camera on the roof of a neighbouring bulding and filmed the 4 week demolition process. Checkout the timelapse video.
14/02/13
UrbanTwilight turns 10 this year so I've finally made some time between the tunnels and abandoned buildings (and my day job) to make a few improvements around the place.
The images are bigger, the old ones have been colour corrected, and a handful have been given the flick. Most importantly there's a whole new section called 'Archives' -
You should check it out from time to time, you never know what you might find.
The Funnel
An expedition report of sorts, this has been hiding on Urbantwilight for years. 'The Funnel', 'The Pothole', 'Skate or die'. Whatever you choose to call it, this place is awe-inspiring.

If you think this shit is cool and you plan on becoming the next K-rad-elite drain explorer, then you need to read this. It could save your life.
