05/09/20: Believe it or not we're still alive! Just getting real slack at doing updates. There's a whole bunch of new photos to add.... One day.
20/07/16: The catacombs and bunkers of Europe are calling. We'll be back with some new flicks real soon.
22/06/14: We just discovered commenting has been broken for a while. Everything should be working again now.
14/02/13: UrbanTwilight turns 10 this year so I've finally made some time between the tunnels and abandoned buildings (and my day job) to make a few improvements around the place. The images are bigger,
the old ones have been colour corrected, and a handful have been given the flick. Most importantly there's a whole new section called 'Archives' - You should check it out from time to time, you never know what you might find.
11/01/13: Some changes are afoot. If you notice any problems with the site leave me a comment or a note in the Guestbook
26/09/12: A dozen new shots online, a bunch more upsized, and a few updates to the Facebook page. If you haven't already, go 'like' it - All the cool kids have.
06/06/12: The Julia Farr Hospital Demolition video is finaly up. Only took 12 months: Timelapse
31/03/11: Demolition cam has been packed away until the next big building meets its maker. Stay tuned for the Julia Farr Hospital stop animation.
15/02/11: The Julia Farr demolition is well under way now. Check out the demolition webcam.
25/08/10: You may notice some images have been getting bigger. I'm just playing around with some ideas at this stage but feel free to tell me what you think.
About UrbanTwilight
UrbanTwilight is dedicated to photographing the underground tunnels, abandoned buildings, rooftops, and hidden industry that most people would never normally get to see. The images contained on this site have been shot in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, and countless country locations inbetween. Nearly all have been taken in low to very-low lighting conditions, and most on Canon digital equipment.
Few people ever stop to consider what lies beyond their humble two dimensional existence. Most never even wondering what might hide below the city streets or what it's like to sit on top of its highest buildings. However, for a select few who know where to go and how to get there, the urban world can be amazing place, just waiting to share its secrets.

20/03/10: Did you miss us?
Unfortunately UrbanTwilight had to go offline for a while, but we're back now, and we're going to make it up to everyone with lots of new photos!
05/06/09: Before anyone else bothers to ask; No, I will not tell you where to find or how to get into the location of your wet dreams. This website is about pretty pictures of normally rather unpretty dark urban places. If you're just here because you want to be another k-rad xplorer kiddie or find your next wall to paint, you're in the wrong place. < /rant >
01/04/09: Sorry for the long delay adding new photos. Was abducted by mole people.
12/11/08: Media page updated with the new Canberra times article.
17/11/08: A young man has been tragically killed while taking photos in a Brisbane stormwater drain. It appears he and a friend had entered the drain in the middle of a huge storm and were both swept away.
Water levels in storm drains can rise in an instant. Inexperienced photographers and explorers should never enter storm water drains, especially in unpredictable weather conditions. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim. May he rest in peace.
09/10/08: More media!: The Canberra Times.
20/05/08: Urbantwilight in the media.
03/04/08:
Playing around with the layout a bit. Things will settle down in the next few days. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for the site, email or leave me a message in the guestbook.
21/01/08:
I am deeply saddened after hearing about the death of two graffiti artists in a storm water tunnel at Maroubra today. The people involved were NOT members of the cave clan. The Cave Clan does not enter drains during rain and certainly do not condone inexperienced artists, explorers or other persons from entering any underground locations.
Our thoughts go to the families of the people involved.
